Hands Anonymous Project
Virtual-Basic Financial Education Program helps people prevent homelessness and achieve financial security through case management, education and emergency financial assistance. The program is a bridge between families and other organizations that provide financial assistance, including utilities, rental expense and mortgage payments.
ELIGIBILITY

Must be a resident of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St Bernard, St Tammany, St. Charles, St, John the Baptist, and St. James Parish.

Must be experiencing a financial crisis that puts housing at risk

Qualifying financial hardship must be recent (within the last 45 days of requesting assistance)

Client must be at a point where up to 12 months of case management and limited financial assistance will suffice to stabilize housing and build self-sufficiency skills

Must gather all documentation required to determine eligibility before enrolling as an applicant in the program

Financial assistance is dependent on the creation of and adherence to a collaborative plan for obtain financial stability

Financial assistance will vary from one individual/household to another and is not guaranteed.
Traveling to one our office locations for financial education is often not convenient and, for distance, traffic and work schedule. However current technology can connect our team with clients no matter where they live. We had one thing in mind when considering this new service, increasing access to provide financial education for the many individuals who are currently unable to access services due to distance, or cost.
HOW TO APPLY

Call Hands Anonymous Project to schedule an appointment. You will be prompted to leave a message and a case manager will return your call within 5 business days

Complete Hands Anonymous Project intake process

Bring or submit required documentation with you to your scheduled appointment

Submit completed application and required documentation

An intake specialist will review your application and provide information about your eligibility to the program

If documentation is missing or additional information is needed, you will be asked to bring or submit additional documentation
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

Last 30 days proof of gross income for ALL adults household members (pay stubs, Social Security card, SSI awards letter for current year, unemployment, works comp, etc)

Proof of child support payments, if applicable

At least one government issued identification for All adult household members (driver's license, military ID, state ID, passport, etc)

Proof of Residency (lease agreement or utilities bill)

Proof of qualifying financial hardship

Hands Anonymous Project is now offering a four-part curriculum of Basic Financial Skills to help Individuals and families better their financial future.
